2017 Oral Health Education Program
Jockey Club Smiley Action Programme - Smiley Action Day

Jockey Club Smiley Action Programme is an event funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust in 2016 aimed to provide oral health education in the community. Smiley Action Day is one of the activities of the programme.
Smiley Action Day held on 11 November was co-organized by the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Hong Kong and suppported by the district council member Mr Kan Siu Kei. Free oral health screening was provided to 122 adults and 66 children. Some of the adults also had an extraction on the mobile dental bus on that day. Flouride treatment has been provided to most of the children. There were totally 550 people participated in the event. Some people were referred to our dental clinics for complicated treatment, such as surgical extraction and dentures, under the dental treatment sponsorship programme funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust.

Game Booth on Oral Health Education

Organizer: Wong Tai Sin District Healthy and Safety City and Hong Kong Council of Smoking and Health
The event was held by Wong Tai Sin District Healthy and Safety City and Hong Kong Council of Smoking and Health. Project Concern was invited to provide game booth with a theme on oral health. There were about 100 people participated in game booth.

Smiley Action Day is one of the activities of Jockey Club Smiley Action Programme funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. Smiley Action Ambassador Scheme is also one of the activitiese of the Prorgramme aimed to promote oral health knowledge through the Ambassdors by the train-the-trainer approach.
Smiley Action Day held on 23 April was co-organized by the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Hong Kong and suppported by the district council member Mr Ip Ngo Tung. Free oral health screening was provided to 180 adults and 90 children. Some of the adults also had an extraction on the mobile dental bus on that day. Flouride treatment has been provided to most of the children. Some people were referred to our dental clinics for complicated treatment, such as surgical extraction and dentures, under the dental treatment sponsorship programme funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust.
During the event, free Chinese medicine consultation was also provided to 143 people. There were total 1,200 people participated in the event, including free oral health screening, free Chinese medicine consultation, eye health screening, oral health and booth games.
